MCBS recently hosted a thought-provoking session as part of its Guest Speaker Series, welcoming Professor Ali Bhayani, a distinguished researcher and consultant in artificial intelligence, higher education, and organizational transformation.
The session, titled “Instruction and Formation: What AI Can Teach and What Only a Teacher Can Form,” brought together faculty members and academic leaders for an engaging discussion on the evolving role of educators in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
Professor Bhayani explored the important distinction between delivering knowledge and forming individuals, encouraging participants to reflect on what remains uniquely human in education when AI can support teaching, content creation, and personalized learning.
The discussion highlighted the continued importance of educators in developing critical thinking, ethical judgment, wisdom, character, and meaningful human relationships, areas that remain central to transformative learning experiences.
Through initiatives such as the Guest Speaker Series, MCBS continues to foster meaningful academic conversations on emerging trends, innovation, and the future of higher education.
